Bank branches to close this month following review: Here’s where

Banking giant TSB announced in May that 36 of its branches across the UK would be shutting in 2024 and 2025, including nine in Scotland this autumn.

At the time it said that the branches on Carmunnock Road in Castlemilk and on Paisley Road West in Cardonald would be closing on September 24 and September 25 respectively.

The closures have, however, have been postponed and the Cardonald branch will now shut on October 21 followed by the Castlemilk branch on October 22.

A spokesperson for TSB said: “The decision to close a branch is never taken lightly, but our customers are now doing most of their banking digitally and we need to move to a better balance of digital and face-to-face services.

“The closures were delayed while LINK carried out an assessment to determine whether any additional cash services would be required in these communities after the branches have closed.

“These assessments concluded that no new services are required in either community so the branches will now close in October.”

Following the closures, the nearest TSB branch for Cardonald customers will be located 3.3 miles away at 24 High Street in Paisley.

For Castlemilk customers the nearest TSB branch will be located 2.4 miles away at 160 Main Street in Rutherglen.

There is a Post Office or ATM within a mile of each of the closing branches.
