Whoopi Goldberg Said She’s “Having A Hard Time” Financially And Can’t Afford To Stop Working On “The View”
Whoopi Goldberg has said that she is “having a hard time” financially, like many other Americans, and can’t afford to stop working on The View.
“I appreciate that people are having a hard time, me too — I work for a living!” she said. “If I had all the money in the world, I would not be here, OK? So, I’m a working person, you know?”
It’s worth mentioning that while Whoopi’s salary for The View is currently unknown, Variety reported back in 2016 that her contract was estimated to be “in the $5 to $6 million range.”
Needless to say, Whoopi’s latest comments arguably align with what her former cohost Meghan McCain said about The View’s panel back in April, with Meghan arguing that there is a disconnect between the stars on the show and the general public who are watching at home.
