Deadpool & Wolverine’s Original Script FINALLY Reveals The One Joke That Was Too Wild Even For Marvel

Is there anyone or anything Deadpool wouldn’t roast? Apparently, yes—Mickey Mouse. A recent Variety report has revealed the one joke from the Deadpool & Wolverine script that even Ryan Reynolds’ irreverent antihero couldn’t get past Disney’s censors. And honestly? It’s as outrageous as you’d expect.

The line in question surfaced when Deadpool discovers Magneto’s demise. In the original script, Deadpool exclaims: “F**K! What, we can’t even afford one more X-Man? Disney is so cheap. I can barely breathe with all this Mickey Mouse cock in my throat.”

Yep. That’s the Merc with a Mouth for you—except this time, the mouth had to be muzzled. Unsurprisingly, the studio deemed the joke too much for the Marvel buddy blockbuster, and the line never made it to the big screen.

During promotional interviews, Ryan Reynolds and director Shawn Levy hinted that one particular joke didn’t make the cut, with both vowing to “take it to their graves.” Now that the script has been released on Disney’s FYC portal, it’s clear why this line was scrapped. Levy, speaking to Entertainment Weekly, shared an amusing anecdote about how Ryan handled the rewrite:

“I will say that it was replaced with an equally dirty line of dialogue about Pinocchio shoving his face up Deadpool’s ass and starting to lie like crazy. I was like, ‘Ryan, that’s your replacement line in response to, “Can we clean it up?” That’s Ryan Reynolds for you, audacious to the very edge.’” Apparently, when Disney says “clean it up,” Reynolds hears “replace it with something equally insane.”

Despite this little hiccup, Deadpool & Wolverine delivered all the chaos, humor, and meta commentary fans hoped for. With Hugh Jackman reprising his role as Wolverine alongside returning characters like Vanessa (Morena Baccarin) and Negasonic Teenage Warhead (Brianna Hildebrand), the film also brought fresh faces to the mix. Emma Corrin’s Cassandra Nova, Matthew Macfadyen’s Mr. Paradox, and Channing Tatum as Gambit added flair to the already stacked cast.
