After movies like Heretic, Babygirl, We Live In Time, the studio A24 is getting ready for another insane schedule in 2025. From Anne Hathway to Dwayne The Rock Johnson, the makers have big projects lining up in the coming months. While some projects already have their trailers out with some buzz around their release, many are yet to confirm their release day and some are yet to share their plots publicly. Meanwhile, the 2024 release Babygirl is yet to make it to theatres in India and will hopefully find a release in the next few months, aka around the award season.
Let’s begin the year with a look at some of the anticipated releases of 2025 by the same studio;
Death Of A Unicorn
Led by Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega, the film explores a dark version of fairy tale characters. The dark comedy follows a father-daughter duo who accidentally hit and kill a unicorn with their car. They end up bringing it to the estate of a grossly wealthy family where they realize that the creature isn’t dead, and it’s not as gentle as they think it’d be.
Opus
Mark Anthony Green’s psychological horror film, Opus will be led by Edebiri and follow a young writer who receives a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. She gets to visit the remote compound of a renowned pop star who disappeared without a trace 30 years before. On arrival, she discovers the cult-like lifestyle the pop star had constructed.

On Becoming a Guinea Fowl
By writer-director Runagno Nyoni, the film is set to follow Shua who while driving on an empty road discovers the corpse of her uncle. As the funeral is underway, Shua and her relatives unearth some shocking secrets about her family.
Warfare
For the film, writer and director Alex Garland is teaming up with Iraq War Veteran Ray Mendoza for a real-time war thriller. Led by D’Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai the film will follow a young Mendoza alongside a vast ensemble cast.
If I Had Legs I’d Kick You
By Mary Bronstein the film is set to follow a grieving mother who is forced to face her child’s mysterious illness alone. Played by Rose Byrne, she will also be seen dealing with an absentee husband and a cruel therapist.

Eternity
After We Live In Time, the studio is gearing up for another romantic film. This rom-com is set to be led by Elizabeth Olsen, Miles Teller, and Callum Turner. According to reports the film will follow three individuals who after death have to decide who they want to spend the rest of eternity with.
The Legend of Ochi
This will be A24’s first family-friendly entertainer following the story of a young girl who befriends a baby mythical creature known as an ochi. Afraid of what people might do to it, she sets off on an adventure away from her village to reunite the cute critter with its family. The fantastical adventure The Legend of Ochi is set to release in February 2025.
