Oil well still pumping after UK Supreme Court ruled plans unlawful
A landmark Supreme Court judgement in June ruled that the planning application for an oil well in Surrey had been unlawful.
That had huge ramifications for other fossil fuel projects because, for the first time, the emissions caused by burning the fuel to be extracted, had to be taken into consideration.
In Surrey, despite the judgement, oil continues to be pumped at the Horse Hill well.
