The film is being directed by Edgar Wright, known for movies including Shaun of the Dead and Scott Pilgrim vs World.
It will star Powell in the lead role as well as Josh Brolin and Katy O’Brian.
We reported how filming is expected to take place in several locations until late November such as Cadogan Square, Union Place, Bothwell Street, St Vincent Street and Blythswood Square.
The film is based on Stephen King’s 1982 novel The Running Man. It centres on Ben Richards, a falsely convicted policeman in dystopian America who gets his shot at freedom when he must forcibly participate in a TV game show where convicts must battle killers for their freedom.
It is expected to be released by Paramount on November 21, 2025.
On Saturday, our photographer Gordon Terris captured fantastic images of Glen Powell arriving for filming in the city.
Meanwhile, Colin Mearns, also a photographer at the Glasgow Times, snapped great photographs of filming for the blockbuster on Renfrew Street yesterday as well.
In the images, a number of extras and vintages cars could be seen outside the Royal Conservatoire.
Glen began his acting career with small roles on television and in films including Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over and Fast Food Nation.
He has since starred in shows including Hit Man, Anyone But You, Top Gun: Maverick, Set It Up, and many more.
