Zomato’s Billionaire CEO Deepinder Goyal Stopped From Entering Mall As Delivery Agent; Video Sparks Debate Online
Zomato’s CEO Deepinder Goyal and his Mexican wife Grecia Muno geared up as delivery agents to deliver. On his second order at a Gurugram mall, the duo faced what delivery partners face regularly at gated societies, corporates, and malls. They arrived at the mall to collect an order from Indian snack king Haldiram’s outlet. However, they were barred from entering the mall by the security. They asked the duo to take the alternative entrance, which Deepinder realized was not a lift rather staircases. They went again to enquire if there are elevators for delivery personnel but in vain. Reluctantly so, the Gurugram’s second richest billionaire obliged and climbed to the third floor to collect the order. He also spent some time with delivery agents trying to understand their issues on the ground.

The viral posts by Deepinder Goyal sparked debate at the plight of delivery agents as they suffer the collective apathy of society, traffic, and the toxic gig economy. One user was perplexed that this issue wasn’t realized until the CEO himself tried. The user urged for a working feedback mechanism in the interest of delivery partners who brave sweltering sun and the monsoon deluge to cure your midnight cravings. Netizens urged that every society, every mall, and every office must normalize delivery agents using regular lifts and entrances/exits without any divide. Netizens also appreciated that the CEO was trying to understand the problems of delivery partners and the humiliation they face at each step.
Every society, every mall and every offices should make it mandatory for delivery partners to use normal regular lifts and entraces / exit. There shouldn’t be any divide

Kind of weird that company didn’t realise this issue until ceo himself tried it. Do they have a working feedback mechanism for delivery partners

Not only malls but also customers and housing societies. A little kindness goes a long way. Great that you are actually taking the time to see what your delivery partners go though on a day to day basis @deepigoyal
